Eternal Life - What does God have to say to Me?
7 Steps to Eternal Life

Step #1
God wants you to be clear and sure of your salvation.  The Bible says in 1 John 5:13, These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

Step #2
God wants you to know why Jesus had to come.  The Bible says in John 3:16, God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that who ever believed in Him would not perish, but would have eternal life.

Step #3
God's purpose is that we have eternal life.  We receive eternal life as a free gift.  The Bible says in Romans 6:23, The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  The Bible also says, I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly, John 10:10.  God wants us to live abundunt lives through our relationship with His son Jesus Christ.

Step #4
God wants us to understand our need for a Savior to forgive us of our Sin.  We are all sinners by nature and by choice.  We cannot save ourselves, and we deserve death and hell.  The Bible says, All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23 and The wages of sin is death, Romans 6:23.  But the good news is that God has provided for the forgiveness of our sins through Jesus Christ.

Step #5
God wants us to know why Jesus died for us on the cross.  First, Jesus is God and He had to leave Heaven and become a man.  The Bible says, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.  Jesus left heaven for us; Jesus also died for you and me, so that we may have life in Him.  Christ also has once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God. ! Peter 3:18

 Step #6
God wants us to respond and receive Jesus as our Savior.  We must also repent (or turn away) from our sins. The Bible says, if we repent and are converted our sins are blotted out.  Acts 3:19  Repentance is not just feeling sorry for our sin; we must be sincere in our heart and trust in Jesus to save us and forgive us of our sins.  We must place our faith in Jesus.  The Bible Says, By grace we are saved through faith; and that not of ourselves; it is the gift of God." Ephesians 2:8.  Faith is not just believing facts about Jesus; Faith is trusting in Jesus.

Step #7
God wants us to Surrender all that we are to Jesus and give Him control of our lives.  The Bible Says, If we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved.  Another way of looking at this is like allowing Jesus to have the steering wheel of your life; He will have full control of your life, and He will take you on the route He wants you to go.
